Non-climacteric fruit
Unlike climacteric fruits, pineapples do not continue to ripen or become sweeter after they are harvested. They are picked at their ideal point of physiological maturity on the plant, meaning your pineapple arrives ripe and ready to enjoy immediately.
Storage
- Keep at room temperature or cool place: You can store your pineapple at room temperature for a few days. If you want to keep it fresh for longer, place it in the refrigerator.
- Do not wait for it to turn yellow: Organic pineapples often retain a naturally green skin because no chemical phytoregulators are applied to force a yellow colour. A green shell or paler flesh is completely natural and does not mean the fruit is unripe.
- Enjoy promptly: Because it is harvested at peak maturity without post-harvest synthetic treatments or waxes, we recommend enjoying your pineapple within a few days of arrival.
