Non-climacteric fruit
Grapes stop ripening once cut from the vine. They are picked at peak physiological maturity so they arrive ready to eat immediately.
Storage
- Refrigerate on arrival: Place grapes in the fridge as soon as you receive them, ideally in a breathable container or perforated bag.
- Wash just before eating, not before storing: Because our grapes are harvested directly from the field with no post-harvest treatment, it's normal to see some surface residue — natural dust, sulphur applications used during cultivation, or dark spots (sooty mould/"negrilla") that can form when residue from leaves or minor grain damage (birds, fruit fly, etc.) lands on the bunch. This is cosmetic only. Rinse the grapes under water right before eating to remove it.
- Keep dry between washes: Excess moisture speeds up spoilage, so don't wash the whole bunch until you're ready to eat from it.
- Natural variations: Being grown in an open trellis system (parral) with no chemical treatments, some surface marks or slight discoloration are completely normal and don't affect the fruit inside.
