Handling natural shell colour changes

Organic lychees do not undergo post-harvest chemical treatments or sulphur baths to artificially preserve a bright red shell. Because of this, and due to ambient transport temperatures, it is completely normal for the outer skin to turn brown within a few days of harvest. This exterior change is purely aesthetic, the inner white pulp remains juicy, intact, and sweet.

Storage

  • Refrigerate immediately: Open your box upon arrival and place the lychees directly into the refrigerator. Cold temperatures help preserve the juiciness and texture of the pulp for longer.
  • Separate from stems if desired: You can leave them on the stem or detach them before placing them in a cool, breathable container in the fridge.
  • Eat fresh: Enjoy them straight from the fridge for the best flavour and texture.
